Mindfulness, meditation, and movement are time-honored techniques that can have immense benefits, including increased immunity, improved brain functioning, effective pain and stress management, and reduced anxiety and depression. They can calm the central nervous system and balance the endocrine system.

By integrating meditation and mindfulness practices with yoga movement and breathing exercises, disharmonies throughout the whole body and mind can be minimized.

Dr. Roya Yazdani has been a student of mindfulness, meditation and yoga since 1983, and is eager to discuss various methods of integrating these techniques into your daily life or options for taking these practices to a deeper level.

Stress is a central element in a variety of conditions and illnesses. It can either trigger symptoms such as anxiety and depression or may significantly impede healing. While stress is an inevitable (and not always negative) part of life, it can begin to take a serious toll on your health and well-being when it continues over long stretches of time.

Stress has strong effects on your body, your thoughts and feelings, and your behavior. Stress breaks down your body’s ability to adequately respond to the happenings of daily life, particularly impairing immunity, thereby sowing the foundation for illness.

Unattended stress can contribute to numerous health problems such as headache, chest pain, fatigue, stomach upset, anxiety, depression, insomnia, anger, lack of concentration, and many more serious conditions.

Reducing stress and cultivating well-being and happiness through mindfulness for conditions such as depression and anxiety, meditation and movement, should therefore be a consistent part of every holistic treatment plan.
